Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design of production tools and /or machines and for developing solutions to support the bearing manufacturing process. A major responsibility is to improve existing manufacturing processes by increasing machine capability while at the same time maintaining quality standards. This individual will also have responsibility for floor layouts as well as costing and obtaining quotes. The incumbent is responsible for supporting new programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery and developing production controls. Additionally, the Precision Manufacturing Engineer sets up new equipment, ensures satisfactory operation of the new equipment and teaches others to use it properly.Principle ResponsibilitiesDevelops and improves processes, methods, tooling and production controls.Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment and investigates their potential applications. Recommends incorporation of new technology for company applications where feasible and practical.Sets up new equipment, ensures its satisfactory operation and instructs others to use the new equipment properly.Designs, tools and/or machines of varying types (some of a very complex nature) for use in the manufacture of company products.QualificationsBSME or a BS degree with a concentration of coursework in industrial technology or engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
