About Nucleus

At Nucleus, we believe access to high-quality, activity-based education can change lives.

Our courses help students build real-world skills in areas like Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Coding & Robotics, Career Exploration, Medical Terminology, and more.

We're a rapidly growing AI-focused education technology company backed by experienced founders and an ambitious, mission-driven team of about 35 people (sales team is ~20 people) Innovation is at the heart of everything we do, and we're big believers in leveraging AI, automation, and emerging technologies to work smarter, move faster, and continuously improve how we operate.

We're building a company that embraces change, challenges traditional ways of doing things, and empowers talented people to make a meaningful impact. As we continue to scale, we're looking for ambitious, forward-thinking individuals who are excited about AI, technology, and the opportunity to help build something special.

About the Role

We're hiring an experienced Sales Development Manager to build, lead, and scale our Sales Development Representative (SDR) team. The team is currently comprised of 6 SDRs and we want to scale that to around 15-20 this year.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to recruit great sales talent, develop high-performing teams, and create a culture of accountability, motivation, and results.

You'll own the SDR function from recruiting and hiring to onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing performance management. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring our SDR team consistently meets and exceeds its goals, generates qualified sales opportunities, and contributes to the company's overall growth.

We're particularly excited about candidates who embrace AI and modern sales technologies to improve productivity, streamline processes, and help their teams perform at the highest level.

This is a fully remote position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, enjoys developing sales talent, and is excited about building a high-performing sales organization.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit & Build: Own the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and development of a high-performing SDR team.
  • Train & Onboard: Develop and execute effective onboarding and training programs to get new SDRs productive quickly.
  • Coach & Develop: Provide ongoing coaching, call reviews, feedback, and professional development to improve individual and team performance.
  • Drive Performance: Establish clear expectations, manage daily and weekly activities, and hold SDRs accountable for meeting and exceeding quotas and KPIs.
  • Manage the Pipeline: Oversee outbound prospecting efforts, lead generation, and appointment-setting activities to ensure a consistent pipeline of qualified sales opportunities.
  • Leverage AI & Automation: Identify and implement AI-powered tools, automation, and innovative sales technologies to improve prospecting, coaching, workflows, and overall team efficiency.
  • Optimize Sales Processes: Continuously refine outreach strategies, messaging, scripts, workflows, and sales playbooks to improve conversion rates and results.
  • Track & Report: Monitor team performance, analyze sales metrics, and provide regular reporting on productivity, pipeline generation, and results.
  • Build a Winning Culture: Foster a positive, competitive, and results-oriented environment where SDRs feel supported, motivated, and accountable.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in sales development, inside sales, or outbound B2B sales
  • At least 1 year managing or leading SDR teams.
  • Proven success recruiting, training, coaching, and managing SDRs to consistently achieve sales quotas.
  • Strong understanding of outbound prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, lead qualification, and appointment setting.
  • Experience developing sales playbooks, onboarding programs, and performance management processes.
  • AI-Forward Mindset: Enthusiastic about leveraging AI, automation, and modern sales technologies to improve prospecting, streamline workflows, enhance coaching, and maximize team productivity.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems, sales engagement platforms, and performance reporting tools.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing a fully remote team.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves, lead by example, and get involved in day-to-day execution.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment and is excited to help build and scale a growing sales organization.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience selling into K-12 education, school districts, or the EdTech industry.
  • Experience building or scaling an SDR team from the ground up.
  • A track record of consistently exceeding team-level pipeline generation and meeting-setting targets.
  • Experience implementing AI-powered sales tools and automation to improve team performance.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000 annual base salary
  • Up to $60,000 in annual performance bonuses
  • $160,000 On-Target Earnings (OTE)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance subsidies
  • 401(k)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Fully remote work environment
  • Ownership interest in Nucleus after your first year
  • Opportunity to build and lead a growing sales team
  • Direct impact on the growth and direction of a rapidly expanding education technology company

Why Join Nucleus?

At Nucleus, we're building something special. We're a close-knit, entrepreneurial team that moves quickly, embraces innovation, and gives our people the autonomy to make a meaningful impact.

We're growing rapidly, investing heavily in technology and AI, and constantly looking for smarter, more effective ways to operate. We value people who take initiative, challenge conventional thinking, and aren't afraid to experiment with new ideas.

This isn't a role where you'll simply inherit a team and maintain the status quo. You'll have the opportunity to shape our SDR organization, develop future sales leaders, implement innovative sales strategies, and play a critical role in scaling our business.

If you're a motivated, forward-thinking sales leader who loves building teams, developing talent, embracing technology, and winning, we'd love to meet you.
