This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior GIS Specialist based in United States.
This role provides senior-level technical support for GIS applications, enterprise systems, databases, and related technology environments. You will serve as a trusted technical resource for troubleshooting complex application, configuration, access, data, and user issues. The position combines hands-on problem solving with technical guidance, project coordination, documentation, and customer support. You will collaborate with system administrators, developers, analysts, project teams, and client stakeholders to resolve issues and support successful technology implementations. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to software upgrades, system changes, application implementations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for supporting both technical and non-technical users. This is a full-time remote position with responsibilities that may include occasional physical activity associated with a computer-based work environment.
\n Accountabilities
Provide advanced technical support for GIS applications, databases, enterprise systems, and related technology platforms.
Troubleshoot complex software, configuration, access, data, and user issues while identifying effective and sustainable solutions.
Provide technical guidance and support to users, project team members, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate technical activities and help project teams complete technology requirements and deliverables on schedule.
Support software upgrades, system changes, application implementations, and related technology initiatives.
Develop clear user guides, troubleshooting procedures, technical documentation, and support materials.
Collaborate with system administrators, developers, analysts, and client stakeholders to investigate and resolve technical issues.
Provide guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to other support personnel when needed.
Serve as a senior technical resource for complex GIS and enterprise application support challenges.
Maintain a strong customer-service orientation while communicating technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical users.
Support project teams in successfully implementing and maintaining technology solutions.
Requirements:
Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, GIS, Information Systems, or a related field.
Bring significant professional experience providing technical support, application support, or enterprise technology support.
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Have experience supporting GIS applications or other enterprise-level applications.
Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
Be able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical users and stakeholders.
Be capable of meeting applicable client access requirements.
Advanced experience with Esri ArcGIS applications is preferred.
Experience supporting GIS databases or enterprise GIS environments is preferred.
Previous experience serving as a technical lead or subject matter expert is preferred.
Experience developing technical documentation, user guides, and support procedures is preferred.
Experience working with government agencies or large enterprise customers is preferred.
Be comfortable working independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary technical and project teams.
Benefits:
Annual salary range of $92,000–$113,000 USD.
