As a Senior Underwriter at June Point Lending, you'll be a foundational member of our credit team, directly underwriting Non-QM loans while helping us build and refine our underwriting process and automation capabilities. You'll bring your deep technical expertise to evaluate complex credit scenarios for self-employed borrowers, real estate investors, and other non-traditional income profiles, while partnering with our technology team to shape how we use automation and AI to make faster, more consistent decisions. This is a hands-on role with strategic impact - perfect for an experienced underwriter hungry to build something from the ground up.

You'll be June Point's first dedicated underwriter, building and optimizing your own workflows. You will manually handle tasks and be a key thought partner with our tech team as we work to develop automations that further improve JPL's underwriting processes.

• Loan Underwriting – Underwrite Non-QM residential mortgage loans (including DSCR, bank statement, P&L) with a focus on credit quality, collateral risk, and regulatory compliance.
• Quality & Risk Management – Maintain rigorous credit standards with attention to collateral analysis, fraud detection, and portfolio risk while identifying opportunities to streamline approval processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with account executives, brokers, and operations to provide clear, timely credit decisions and exceptional service to our lending partners.

• Experience – 5-7 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience, including conventional and/or Non-QM products. Background with self-employed borrowers, investment properties, or complex income documentation strongly preferred. Wholesale lending experience preferred.
• Technical Expertise – Deep knowledge of credit analysis, collateral risk assessment, fraud detection, and regulatory requirements (TRID, HMDA, fair lending)
• Startup Mindset – Thrives in early-stage environments where you're building processes from the ground up. Comfortable with ambiguity, resourceful when systems are still being established, and energized by the opportunity to shape workflows and operations as the company scales .
